Willie Nelson, one of the founders of Farm Aid and a long time supporter of those who labor to produce the food we eat, has written an article to help connect the dots between supporting local farm families, and the environmentalists who care about creating sustainable agriculture. It's posted here in the Envirohealth section of Alternet.
I want to eat locally more often, but it's really hard!

Hi Amy--
I know it can be difficult to eat locally grown food, depending on where you live. I have become so much more aware of the benefits of living in a major agricultural region. Then sometimes I am torn: Should I buy the local asparagus, or the organic? Last time I chose local because it was on sale.
Thanks for dropping by.
