The above image is a photograph by Chris Jordan that is 60 x 120 inches in size (about five by ten feet). It depicts the statistic that two million plastic beverage bottles are used every five minutes. Hard to imagine what that means? Here's a closeup of the same image:
In human history, this particular form of packaged convenience is relatively recent. I think that as a society, we can begin to view plastic beverage bottles with as much disdain as gas guzzling Hummers and the like. We can stop using them. We can purchase light weight, re-useable containers if we need to carry water or some other libation.
What did we do before these plastic bottles were everywhere? Let's do that again.
That's alot of plastic!
